Chiropractic

Chiropractic is not just about the spine, joints and the 'crack'!

You will have thorough medical history and physical examination to find the hidden problem areas, bringing your whole body into the picture. Often the site of pain is not the cause of pain. Chiropractors are primary healthcare providers and are well placed to consider the findings of the physical exam and medical history. If there are findings that aren't suggestive of a musculoskeletal problem or something out of the scope of practice, you will be referred to your GP or to another practitioner.

The hands-on treatment approach is tailored and will be a combination of many modalities. I have a been a remedial massage therapist for over 10 years and so this is always part of care. Other techniques that may be used are diversified manipulations, mobilizations, Active Release Techniques (ART), dry needling, taping and instrument-assisted techniques. Complementing these methods are exercise prescriptions, and lifestyle advice.

A multimodal approach to care is well documented in recommendations for the conservative management of many musculoskeletal conditions. As well as hands-on care, I will prescribe you with exercises and give you plenty of information and advice about your problem.
